Italo Poggesi

Italo Poggesi received his degree in chemistry and his PhD in Bioengineering from the Universita’ degli Studi di Pavia, Italy. Since 1988, he held different positions in the pharmaceutical industry, in preclinical and clinical pharmacology, modeling, and drug development. He was the Head of Pharmacokinetic Data Analysis and Prediction and Modeling Group of Pharmacia and Director in the Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics group in GSK and Janssen. He is currently working at Certara as a Senior Director in the Integrated Drug Development Group. His research interests include the development and evaluation of modelling techniques with the aim of accelerating and optimizing drug development and reducing the attrition of compounds, with a particular focus on the oncology therapeutic area. He is the author/coauthor of more than 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 6 book chapters.
