クラウド版Phoenix Hostedで研究チームが効率を上げるには

Phoenix software is the gold-standard solution for PK/PD data management and analysis. Trusted by over 6,500 researchers, the software simplifies the daily work of pharmacokineticists, toxicologists, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic (DMPK) scientists, and clinical pharmacologists in over 1,500 pharmaceutical companies and academic organizations worldwide. The product is under constant development, most recently with the release of Phoenix 8.4, in which several enhancements have been made to the software in response to customer suggestions.

Recognizing these needs, Certara also has developed the technology to host Phoenix in the AWS (Amazon Workspaces) cloud, offering a range of benefits to users. In this blog post, we will explore the advantages of Phoenix Hosted, including optimized performance, scalability, flexibility of access, the Job Management System (JMS), deployment and validation, and more!

1. Optimized Performance for End Users:

The primary advantage of hosting Phoenix is optimizing application performance for end users. Each user who accesses Phoenix through the hosted environment receives their own virtual desktop, ensuring they have the necessary hardware resources to perform any analysis. By fine-tuning performance and providing the ability to upscale resources if required, Phoenix Hosted creates an computing environment that maximizes efficiency and minimizes performance issues caused by resource competition in multi-user environments.

2. Scalability and Flexibility of Access:

Certara’s hosted Phoenix solution is scalable and can accommodate any number of users, and any number of processor cores per user. Additionally, the hosted Phoenix solution provides flexible access by using the Amazon Workspaces client application. This allows users to access Phoenix Hosted from any data science environment that can install Amazon Workspaces, including Mac, Windows, and even Linux environments.

3. Change Control Management and Validation

Certara IT takes care of change control by handling Amazon Workspace updates and Phoenix version upgrades. This proactive approach ensures that users always have access to the latest features and improvements without disruption. To help enable this approach, validation of the software environment is provided as a service. This includes a comprehensive set of validation tests of the Phoenix software and its functionality, and a pdf report that verifies the system’s integrity from the moment users log in. By offering a validated system, Phoenix Hosted reduces delays in deploying the software in Production environments.

4. Job Management System (JMS) Capabilities:

Phoenix’s built-in Job Management System enables users to remotely process tasks, such as running large NCA-based workflows, NLME (nonlinear mixed effects) bootstrapping runs, or other analyses that may take several minutes or even hours to run. By offloading these intensive operations to a remote server, analysts can continue working on other tasks within Phoenix. Once the remote job is complete, the results are seamlessly merged back into the Phoenix project.

5. Certara handles all installation and upkeep.

Certara’s handles all installation and upkeep of the Phoenix Hosted environment, including:

  • Automated Backup and Restore
  • Licensing handled from end to end
  • Multi language support

Phoenix Hosted offers enhanced performance, efficiency, and reliability for users. By providing optimized performance, scalability, flexibility of access, JMS capabilities, change control, and validation, Certara ensures that customers can make the most of Phoenix’s powerful data analysis capabilities in a computing environment that is always validated and up to date.
